You've used mame, right? If not, you need to get mame set up. I was never great at Tempest but the sounds were one of the foundational necessary ones for the arcade.

You download the emulator and then you go online in various places *cough*newsgroups*cough* and you download the ROMs for games like "Tempest" - so you aren't playing a Tempest knock-off, you are playing TEMPEST. It's the bomb.
